El Bigotes

Worth a visit for the experience rather than the service or the food as neither are exceptional. This seaside Spanish restaurant is perched on the rocks hidden away just to the left of Cala Mastella beach. For the more adventurous, we recommend parking at the beach and climbing over the rocks along a little path to reach it but you can use the car park or even arrive by boat! The restaurant floor is literally carved out of the side of the mountain so the views out over the water are stunning. There is no VIP treatment here and you often have to book your table a couple of weeks in advance! There is only one seating, serving a set menu: a fish & potato stew followed by a traditional dish called bullit de peix. A few extras have been added to the menu over the years though and be sure to try the café caleta (spiced coffee) with your dessert. If you are drinking wine, ask your waiter for a porrón and clear your schedule for the rest of the day! This is a cash only establishment – no credit card payments – the menu is 22€ per person but the drinks add up quickly so be sure to take a pocket full of cash.
