Bar Don Quijote

Nestled on a corner in central San Antonio, near the old church, it’s all too easy to wonder past Bar Don Quijote without offering so much as a second look. Don’t make this mistake though, this little bar and restaurant is a lovely spot to stop and watch the passers by, quench your thirst, have a snack or even something more hearty.

The Don Quijote has a real sense of history to it and for good reason. Imagine the scenes it has witnessed during a century and half of life in San An. The terrace provides a great spot during the warmer months for soaking up the local atmosphere and there is ample space inside, more popular during the winter. There are no real surprises on the drinks menu, just well priced and exactly what you’d expect from a traditional bar including lots of Spanish wines. There is a tasty selection of tapas and pinxos on offer throughout the day, daily specials and a larger menu in the evening. The food leans towards Spanish favourites but there is also a mix of other Mediterranean influences and even a touch of Asian flavours.
