Here at Save Ibiza we are all about promoting the best that the island has to offer, without breaking the bank to do so. And what better way to cut some costs than to ditch the hotels and plan a good old camping holiday? Forget cheesy family memories in Cornwall, these sites have a laid-back hippy vibe to them and are located in some of the most scenic spots on the island. All offer several types of accommodation of varying costs for those who want to camp in comfort, but a top tip to those looking for the ultimate adventure on a budget is that all of them offer the option to take your own tent and rent out a plot of land for a snip of the usual price.
Es Cana
Located in a beautiful pine forest, Camping Es Cana is perfect for peace and relaxation. The accommodation comes in the form of bungalows, chalets and even wooden barrels, but the charming North american tipis include mattresses and are a popular option. The campsite is sprawled around a sunny terrace complete with swimming pool and a bar that serves food daily. The pool, alongside a kids’ playground nearby, means that this is a good option for families. For mum and dad, there are hammocks and sun loungers to relax on whilst the little ones entertain themselves. The multi-cultural and arty town of Santa Eularia is only a five minute bus ride away from the site, making it the perfect halfway point between retreating into nature and being in the heart of the action.
Cala Nova
At only 50m from the beautiful Cala Nova beach, this site has the best of all worlds on a shoestring. Offering a list of top-of-the-range bungalows which include a gas cooker, fridge, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, camping can be comfortable at an affordable price. If you really want to get a bargain though, go for their 4 man tipis at half the price although, as with all tents, prepare to be hot in the summer months! They have a bar that is open for breakfasts and snacks and drinks in the evening, as well as a comfortable chill-out zone and live music entertainment several nights a week. Run by the same family since 1984, this campsite offers a friendly environment suitable for all types of travellers.
La Playa
Also located close to the beach, this camping offers so much entertainment in-house that you may never want
to venture that far out. Here everyone gathers together for weekly yoga and African dance classes as well as live music, and the little ones are kept entertained in the Chikipark, a place for children to play and take part in weekly activities and classes. Accommodation comes in the form of wooden bungalows, quirky nostalgia
caravans, nomad tents and luxury yurts, whilst the setting that frames them is peaceful and scenic, with
front-line ocean views to rival any expensive hotel.
